Are you a healthcare provider who received Provider Relief Funds with a September 30, 2021 reporting requirement? Are you a healthcare provider who continues to be financially impacted by the pandemic? This latest news applies to you.
On September 10, 2021, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced an additional $25.5 billion in funding for health care providers impacted by the pandemic.
Certain providers who serve rural patients, as well as providers who incurred additional losses and expenses as a result of the pandemic, may be eligible for this Phase 4 funding. Providers must demonstrate proof of losses or expenses incurred between July 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021. The application portal for Phase 4 will open on September 29, 2021.
If you previously received funds and have a September 30, 2021 reporting deadline, HHS announced that you have an additional 60 days to complete reporting without penalty. This provision does not extend the period of availability for lost revenues or expenses incurred.
